Book Review: Leave Me Behind by K.M. Moronova

Although I tend to post romance books on the fluffier and sweeter side of the genre, I also am a big fan of dark romances. Sure, rom-coms are fun, but after a while they often reach a point where they all start to blend together. So what better way to break up the monotony than with a dark romance? One of my favorite aspects about this sub-genre is its willingness to tackle difficult topics, often leading to a much more emotional read. Plus, it doesn't hurt that usually the spice level is through the roof!  Leave Me Behind is a book I probably would have never picked up on my own if it hadn't been featured in one of my book subscription boxes. I don't generally gravitate towards military romances, and at the time this had been a newer release, while also being by an author I hadn't read from before. However, this book has since gained a lot of traction, with readers everywhere sharing their thoughts. Here are my own on Leave Me Behind . Get the Book Here Synopsis Leave...

My Summer Reading List For 2025

With the summer season now upon us, I cherish the longer days where I can dive into a good book. One of my favorite things to do is read outside, and what better way to celebrate the nice weather, than with a summer romance book. But what does it mean for a book to be a "summer romance"? Well, first and foremost, the most important is the overall vibes. I want a romance with a summer camp, trips to the beach, fake-dating at a summer wedding, lake-house visits, or even a cowboy romance. Usually these romances are more lighthearted then other romance books out there, and make for a fun, quick read. These are some of the romances I plan on reading this summer. Same Time Next Summer Get The Book Here Sam is doing great. She's engaged to Jack, who happens to be a doctor, and she has a really great job herself. But when they go to look at a wedding venue by her family's Long Island beach house, she is shocked to find that her first love Wyatt is also in town. As her memori...

What's In My Bag: Reader Edition

One of my favorite things to do as soon as the weather is nice, is pack up a bag, and head to the park for a few hours of reading time. Something about laying in the grass and reading a book just feels like summer, and is something I look forward to every year. I even have a favorite tree to read under, it's absolutely perfect. With the summer season approaching, these are some of the essentials I plan on having in my bag this summer. 1. First of course, I'll need a good sized bag to bring my book as well as other goodies in. I usually prefer a large canvas tote-bag, but occasionally will use a purse, such as this woven beach style one. Here's one similar to the one I have on Amazon, which can be found  here . I especially love a bag with a small zipper pocket inside to keep my wallet, keys, and phone safe.     2. A book! Now this doesn't have to be a traditional book, sometimes I bring a paperback, but there's other times I bring my kindle along instead. Another o...

Book Review: First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison

Hi readers! Last month while on vacation I brought First-Time Caller with me, and it became my emotional support book for the duration of my trip. Going to coffee, oh look she has her book. Hot tub? There's her book again. Passenger princess time, more like nose in a book time. All joking aside, I had seen a lot of hype about the newest B.K Borison release, and was very happy to have snagged my book of the month copy just in time for my trip. I previously had enjoyed Lovelight Farms by this author during the winter season, so I had high expectations for her newest release, especially when I heard it was essentially a Sleepless in Seattle retelling. So let's get into it. Get the book here   Synopsis Aiden Valentine is the host of Baltimore's romance hotline but there's just one little issue...he doesn't believe in love. One night Lucie, a single mom, finds her daughter calling into the hotline on her behalf, and her love life is quickly thrown into the spotlight. ...

Book Review: Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

In February of this year, Deep End was released, and was added to the monthly Tbr of book girlies everywhere. I was a little late to the party, and decided to read it in March with my Fable bookclub. Up until that point I had only heard good things about this book, and rave reviews about how the love interest Lukas was the blueprint for being the perfect book boyfriend. So of course I was more than intrigued to begin Scarlett and Lukas' story, especially being a fan of Ali Hazelwood's books in the past. Here are my thoughts on Deep End . Get the Book Here Synopsis Scarlett Vandermeer is a Stanford diver recovering from the aftermath of of traumatic diving injury. While trying to overcome her own battles she finds herself entangled in a no-strings-attached relationship with her best friend's ex, Lukas Blomqvist, who also just happens to be a Olympic champion swimmer. As Scarlett tries to navigate her academic goals, athletic dreams, and her newfound feelings for Lukas, she...

Book Review: Wild Love by Elsie Silver

It's no secret that Elsie Silver is the queen of cowboy romance books. Her Chestnut Springs series made it onto many romance readers favorites list over the last few years, so you can guess my excitement (along with everyone else's) when she announced her spin off Rose Hill series. This series not only begins with a book featuring Ford, who is Willa's brother from Chestnut Springs, but also is marketed as being a series where four single dads find love. That's right ladies. Four books all promised to be single-dad romances, taking place in a cozy little mountain side small town. Did I mention they all are on a bowling team for single dads? Here are my thoughts on the first book in her new series, Wild Love . Get the Book Here Synopsis When Rosie Belmont finds herself suddenly back in her childhood town of Rose Hill, her brother's best friend Ford will do everything in his power from crossing a line with her. Things get more complicated when Rosie needs a job, and...

Hello March!

This year March crept up on me, and along with it came my March TBR. Now will I  actually  read all of these books, probably not, but a girl can hope. February was a bad reading month for me, so I'm hoping with the approach of spring I'll be able to fly through some books to make up for it. Most of these I'm super excited to dive into, especially some highly anticipated new releases such as  Deep End , and  Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave . Maybe with the sun shining outside I can make some progress through a good chunk of my monthly TBR, and find some new favorites (fingers crossed that I find a new five-star read). Give me a cozy spot outside to lay out with a picnic blanket, a good book, and an ice cold drink, and I'm sure to have a good time.  Currently Reading After a rough reading month, which resulted in the last book I read being a DNF (did-not-finish for my bookish newbies), I desperately needed something to get me out of a book slump. So, when in dou...
