It's that time of year again, you know, the dreaded time where the stores are full to the brim with roses, chocolates, and last minute shoppers-galore. But whether you're in a relationship or not, we can all agree that it's the season of love. So what better way to celebrate than with a romance book! This Valentine's Day grab a book, find a cozy spot to curl up, and grab a festive snack (chocolate covered strawberries anyone?). As a year round romance reader myself, these are some of my own picks I plan on reading to get into the Valentine's spirit.
Beg, Borrow, Or Steal
The much anticipated final installment in the When in Rome series, following two feuding second-grade teachers, Emily and Jack. To make matters worse, Jack is back in town after calling off his engagement, and now he's going to be not only Emily's co-worker, but also her neighbor. Can you say enemies-to-lovers? When Emily sends her secret book manuscript to her boss, she enlists Jack to help her steal it back before her boss gets wind of her side hustle. In typical Sarah Adams fashion, this book is sure to have a cozy small town feel, as well as humor, all while being a closed door romance.
Love, Theoretically
While Ali Hazelwood fans everywhere will be jumping to get her newest release Deep End, I personally am still making my way through some of her backlist. This stem romance follows a theoretical physicist, and her academic rival. There also is a fake-dating plot that makes things more complicated for our heroine Elsie, when her side hustle of being a "fake girlfriend" gets discovered by one of her clients older brothers, who just happens to be Jack her rival. This book is guaranteed to give all the romcom vibes, while also bringing a bit of spice.
Hate Mail
This book has been sitting on my kindle for ages, so what better time to read it then now during the season of love. The cover just screams cutesy Valentine's day read. An enemies-to-lovers story following two life long pen pals. Well that is, until 2 years ago when the letters suddenly stopped. But now all that is about to change when Naomi gets a spontaneous letter at her job as a news anchor from Luca. There's one little hitch though, there's no return address. Now Naomi is determined to not let him get the last hateful word. I can already tell this is going to be a funny and cute read.
Dream Girl Drama
Like all the other romance reader girlies out there, I'm a sucker for a Tessa Bailey book. This third installment in her Big Shots series follows Sig and Chloe. While on a trip to visit his estranged father, Sig runs into Chloe, a harpist prodigy who's yearning to gain some independence. Sparks fly, but the pair soon finds out that their parents are engaged, making them future step-siblings. Sig determined to help Chloe gain some independence, steals her away to Boston, where they try forget the feelings they may have started to have for one another, but being high profile individuals, drama is sure to follow. Now if you are new to romance or Tessa Bailey, let me warn you now, these books bring the spice.
First-Time Caller
This newest release from B.K. Borison is inspired by the cult classic Sleepless in Seattle. When a romance hotline host gets a call from a little girl for dating advice for her mom, it goes viral. But the question is, will Lucie (our single mom) find a happily ever after provided by the hotline, or will it be with Aiden Valentine, the host who has fallen out of the hope for love himself. With a last name like Valentine and all the cozy rom com vibes, I can't wait to pick this one up.
